Apologies, you cast combust during the scorch guaranteeing the heating up. I agree sort of with your point, to me the big thing is optimally casting the instants while avoiding munching fire blasts and activating flame on at max speed available in game doesn't really seem possible under human control.

If for any reason during a fight ring needs to be held, or trinket and ring just get really desynched,is the better option to wait til ring is popped or set up combustion when your trinket procs?

You don't ignore AM during crystal and outside AM at three stacks, burn as long as Arcane Power is up but make sure its not glyphed or you will probably go OoM.

Seems like eating mastery food and maybe even having a second weapon with bleeding hollow would be good on fights where you took SN.

Dump ams then ap, burn into crystal as normal including using am procs, after crystal if ap is still up only am at 3 stacks.

The prophecy takes into account your buffs so I believe you pop ap when emptying missiles.

Without all the HFC stuff (tier bonuses, class trinket and prophecy of fear) frost will in many instances beat out arcane even on single target.

It values mastery higher than haste. People us UM because our 4pc calls for haste gearing and UM benefits from haste. Our class trinket also plays into it.

Are you running UM or SN?

So what's the current word on playing with the legendary ring? Is it business as usual or delaying pc for upcoming ring procs?

I'm not exactly sure of the math (kind of a no no on this site) but I believe its a bigger thing with the tier as having 26% haste guarantees an extra hit from the temporal anomalies and haste benefits UM more where as SN wants mastery. It should be pretty much regardless of gear beyond having tome, and the tier bonuses. We go for haste with our tier and that works much better with haste than SN does. So many of the posts on here suggest using SN on PC and what not but what confuses me is shouldn't we be specc'd UM, especially on single target fights which seem like the majority of fights we'll be running into this situation? Does making PoF + PC work call for using SN?
