Without knowing all your stats, I can't know. But I have NEVER seen a higher ilvl item have less stamina than a lower ilvl item.

The numbers that kirilzz posts are good. The only adder that I would provide is that simulating with Simulationcraft (or the web version Raidbots.com) is the best way to go. Keep lots of extra gear, but simulating will allow you to optimize what you have today.

I simmed again last night and my optimal gear set includes both rings. It sims about 5K dps higher than shard/kilt. Given that, I will stick with Shard/Kilt.

POM doesn't have a timer. You can cast it 10 minutes before a fight starts.
