Re: your opinion on the fire spec

I think your opinion and your arguments lack alot in matter of experience in this expansion I accept that :) Calling IF a low-skill pick is just stupid. At this moment there is very little reasons to take RoP, even if you play it perfectly the reward is so small, that it's not worth. - And most ppl...

Re: your opinion on the fire spec

I had a feeling this would just turn into you expressing your dislike for passive talents and wanting them to be more "casual" and less "optimal". Also, you talk about loving the hot streak playstyle but you don't seem to understand that that playstyle is strongest and most fun when its all about b...

your opinion on the fire spec

Hey fellow fire mages, I was wondering about your opinions to the changes of the fire mages and the current spells/rotation/talents. I myself only recently started playing again and missed Legion entirely, and am now exploring the BFA prepatch. I think i can pretty confidently speak for many mages t...

Re: The Mage weakaura HUB

list of secrets

Hi Folks, Ive just returned from a 3 year break of WoW (stopped in WoD, never played legion). Now ive been looking for a list somewhere listing all secret stuff that mages can get/do/learn, but can't find any. Im asking because i was very dissapointed about not being able to blink in any direction a...

Re: Fire mage - help/discuss

noty being able to position the crystal well is only part of my problem with the talent. As a fire mage the whole "you have 10 seconds to do as much damage as possible"- mechanic doesnt work well for me cuz of crit% RNG. it only makes my worst tries worse, and my best tries better. i guess with the ...

Fire mage - help/discuss

Hi folks, Im one of those rare folks that still plays fire on 100% of the fights. My guild is not progressing for top 100 world spots so they will let me play fire as long as i can keep up. in fact our guild just had our first week on heroic (our progress now is 12/13 normal / 5/13 heroic). So far i...

Re: Hellfire Citadel Mage Tips

For Xhul'orac a tip is given to take greater invis as a talent if on soak-duty. Just checking in which thing to soak, because it doesn't work for black holes singularity explosion. when we started xhulorac we were assigned to soaking black holes with an immunity or dmg reduction. On our first few tr...

Magenuggets has a really nice bombtracker, but it als has a lot of functionality that you do not need and needs to be disabled.

Re: How are YOU tracking Fire ignite

Mybigignite. I found it more clear for just ignite trackinG then combustion helper. Als tried to track it with magenuggets, but that kinda sucked (although magenuggets has good LB trackers and cooldown monitors imho). Havent used weak auras yet, was planning to try that somewhere in the near future ...

Re: Simcraft Stat Weighting Progression by iLvl

Pretty much what Komma said. While i agree that its sometimes good to ignore sim/theory crafting in favour of common sense to choose another talent or glyph to compensate for certain bossmechanics that prevent you from performing optimally, things like statwheight are too complex (for me at least) t...

Re: Techus and Twins

quick note on frost spec on twins: Ice can be really good, but it depends on the tanks too. if they keep the bosses really closely stacked and you can benefit from glyph of splitting ice most of the time it could definatly outperform fire in that fight. but when the bosses are stacked sloppy fire is...

Re: Techus and Twins

I dont know which talents you tried but here are some of my personal highmaul experiences, hope you find them useful. In frost spec i have found that when movement is heavy I could increase my damage by speccing ice comets so had an extra instant spell to cast while on the move. Ice floes is als a r...

Re: So...we just got buffed. A lot.

I tried the buffed firespec in lfr yesterday in my frost gear with frost gems and enchants and did a lot better than i expected. It was not to far off from the frost damage is did earlier that night. Now i am thinking to make it my main spec again since i like fire so much better. Only thing i am wo...

Re: Welcome to AT! Who are you? (Self Intro Thread)

Hey all, i am known in game as Herpie (on Terenas EU). I live in the netherlands Ive been playing the mage since 2007 in TBC (my first char). Ive done a little hardcore raiding back in tbc, but figured that was not my cup of tea. Too many nights of mandatory raiding to combine with a full-time job. ...
