I know this is arcane on Patchwerk in vacuum when the stars align but bloody hell, 109k? I thought I'd go pure crit fire for the tier but not going arcane just seems like folly.

It won't be quite as efficient as it is now, but still possible. You just will only be able to use fire on true AoE/cleave fights, not fights with a bit of aoe/cleave but like half single target. Thank you for answering, I understand. If I may, what sort of setup are you personally going for in 6.2...

How likely is it that the comfort of having the same gear for fire and arcane survives in 6.2? Will we still be able to stack mastery and use arcane for ST, and fire for MT?

From my understanding it's to lower the GCD enough for you to get 5 pyroblasts off on the 4pc proc. If you have under 900 you'll only get 4.
Also it's 900 purely from items, unbuffed.

I'm planning on getting into CM's on my mage in the near future, just gold, no stellar time racing. I am currently fire, gemmed and enchanted for mastery as per the 6.1 multi-target stat priority. Since most of the CM's involve bursting down large packs of mobs, would you consider Mastery ideal, or ...

Pardon my ignorance, but doesn't the frost 4pc make TV stronger regardless of the situation?
Don't get me wrong, I love Comet Storm and I've been trying to use it since launch, if only in dungeons for fun, but I don't want to get excited prematurely.

What really helped up was having all dps ignore the adds and continue attacking him while he was charging his shield up, while a holy paladin with Righteous Fury up aggroed all the adds to himself where they got bunched up and mostly killed by the tanks inside a nullification zone.

It's a shame that they didn't do anything better with Comet Storm. I want to use it, I really do, but it's a joke compared to PC or TV, and I doubt a 25% damage boost will change that. On another note, off the top of your heads, do you think the 25% frostbolt buff means Unstable Magic might be up to...

The thing to bear in mind is that this is the first tier of the expansion, and as such, numbers are low. If you want an example, compare Mogu'shan Vaults gear to Siege of Orgrimmar. In the past this did indeed mean that crit-reliant specs like fire mages, fury warriors and balance druids were weaker...
