Re: [Meta] Lack of curated class info
Additional shameless plug: We're always looking for guidewriters! You don't need to ask for permission of any sort. If you feel like you know a spec well enough to share knowledge on it, feel free to just write it up and post it in a thread! Well written guides will be made into sticky threads.

Re: [Meta] Lack of curated class info
Woah, a lot happened while I was on a trip! :o I split the posts that were discussing the need for curated info, because it is a topic deserving of its own thread, even if it is off-topic from the original thread asking for Fire stat weights. After reading your post, I think the main thing you want...

Re: Haste effect on Combustion
There isn't a simple answer to this question. It depends on whether the extra haste can increase your ignite sizes by 7.5%, by skipping an Ignite tick or two before Combustion is used. That will depend a lot on your haste, strategy, luck and a lot of factors that aren't easy to compute.

Re: New way to use Arcane Power?
And Flying Spaghetti Monster also exists - no logs, no sims, no numbers, no proof :( Well, in this case I think it makes sense if we're talking 20-30 second kills where you glyph AP and the mana reduction means you don't even need to Evocate a second time. There's barely any cost to doing this, so ...

Re: Prophecy of Fear [Megathread]
...this is exactly the case though. Assume you will do 4m prophecy of fear damage (best mage did just under ~5.6m), what do you do the ~50% of the time it procs on boss? Not do 30% extra damage to crystal? Ignore PoF altogether and lose out on the 4m damage? We're looking at: 1. A 99 percentile RNG...

Re: Prophecy of Fear [Megathread]
You know what? The "pulling a boss" bonus to RPPM trinkets might explain the "pessimism" about it. This has been pretty thoroughly tested with solo pulls, so it is very unlikely to be the case. You can falsify this quite easily too: Go to Marrowgar, wait 4 minutes, and then do a pull. If you see a ...

Re: Prophecy of Fear [Megathread]
Again though the preferred strat is to avoid this altogether by dropping the crystal at -3 outside of boss range, hitting it at -1 so it's a guaranteed proc, and having tank pull it to crystal Napkin math says that you need to idle for ~226 seconds before you can reach a 100% proc chance on first a...

Re: Fire Haste priority question - SC issue ?
It feels like there is this strong belief of Haste being really bad for Fire. I don't understand why people think that way. Indepedently, Fire is one of the strongest haste-scaling specs in the game, due to Combustion and Pyroblast DOT mechanics and Fireball's long cast time. Then there is the issue...

Re: Casting AM preemptively for higher AC uptime/less clippi
You haven't established it as a good risk to take because you didn't consider the odds. Suppose you are at 2AC, 2AM. AM has a 30% chance to proc per spell. Here are the probabilities of each case happening: Both AB proc AM, you munch 1: 30% * 30% = 9% Neither AB proc AM: 70% * 70% = 49% One AM proc ...

Re: Request for feedback (Mythic Manno)
I think you may have mistakenly linked the HP graph instead of mana.2:
As you can see your boths mana management is poor sometimes(if my graph is right, which i assume). You should not be using much mana between 1-2min.

Re: Fire Mages are alive again (Updated for 6.2.3)
Hypothetically, if you had superchinesed, the time to send another Fireball/Pyro is over 2 seconds, which would have put the overall time over 5 seconds. So why superchinese at all? Wouldn't the ignite from the first Fireball/Pyro in superchinese always fall off? I feel like I repeat this a lot, bu...

Re: Fire Haste priority question - SC issue ?
I know that the "breakpoint" in haste is not really one. However, I was talking about crit : I'm reaching the 47% crit buffed/feed. So I consider it's normal that Crit does not scale anymore. There isn't a hard cap at 47%. It is a hard cap only for 20 seconds every 120, only for the subset of spell...

Re: Fire Haste priority question - SC issue ?
There is no breakpoint or cap at 900 haste. Skiz postulates that around 900 haste is enough to achieve the results he describe in the Fire thread, but I don't believe anyone has shown evidence of haste dropping in value rapidly beyond that point.

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max
Apparently PC has a summon event, but not a demise event. Not very convenient for number crunching. As a substitute, I had to look for a debuff that could be placed on PC, since debuffs have a removal effect upon despawn. Similarly, I don't trust the summon event, so I had to find a ground effect th...

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max
There is a delay between Prismatic Crystal being casted, and the mob being summoned. It's probably better to measure the time between Prismatic Crystal's summon and destruction events.

Re: Prismatic crystal min/max
It's 12.0 seconds for all intents and purposes. As with all things in WoW, the timer is slightly off due to server processing of summoned mobs and other minor annoyances.
