Re: [7.2.5] Frost Mage M+ Guide

A quick note on Frost Bomb: I've been running this for the last week (Bracers with Soul of the Archmage, thanks to op) and found it to vastly outperform Arctic Gale. My overall DPS throughout the dungeons went up considerably, maybe someone could confirm my findings. The sequence Frost Bomb>Frozen O...

Re: [7.2.5] Frost Mage M+ Guide

Will polymorph always put you in combat with the thing you polymorph? I feel like I often poly something out of combat, skip that mob and a minute later that thing comes back to me angry as hell Hahaha that made my day. :D does not put you in combat but it also does not remove the aggro radius of t...

Re: Why I find current frost mage boring and how it could be fixed.

Getting the FoF proc refunded if you land it onto a frozen target is a brilliant idea. It would serve as a bad luck protection and clean up the rotation at the same time. Another cool idea would be to have uncritical Frostbolts give you a stacking haste buff that's consumed upon landing any form of ...

Re: Frost Mage M+ Guide for 7.2.5

Herux, thank you again for this guide. I was intrigued by your recommendations for AOE legendaries and have since tried both of the Rings with some success. While you could theoretically proc Sephuz on cooldown, interrupting a particular spell always takes priority. In some occasions that can also m...

Re: Why I find current frost mage boring and how it could be fixed.

Long Frostbolt streaks can happen, but if you're critcapped and equipped with T19 2pc they rarely do. With T20 4pc the rotation gets a bit more interesting as well. In general I agree with you though. Right now Frost has a lot of undertuned talents, many of which are really fun to play. I'd be the f...

Re: Returning player looking for Ilvl 830 max survival build

Best way to survive is to kite and cc, for which the pet would help. Other than that you won't spend more than a weekend on 830 these days, so I wouldn't invest too much thought in this.

Re: New to Frost, and being benched. Ilv867

You're trying to drive a car without wheels. You could be the best mage in the world and your DPS would still be too low. As with sim DPS - there will always be a difference. ilvl% is a better benchmark for what you should be able to get out of your gear. 42 is better than some others in your group....

Re: Definitive guidance on how to spend FoFs w/wo Brain Free

Added this line right before Flurry, which should model the 2) scenario. actions.single+=/ice_lance,if=prev_gcd.1.frostbolt&buff.brain_freeze.react&variable.fof_react>0&cooldown.icy_veins.remains>10 So basically, either way is fine. While IL first produces a marginally lower (0.2%, which is negligi...

Re: Interaction between Ice Time and Sephuz

But it still works. I believe what was fixed was that the Ice Time Nova triggered Sephuz even if it didn't hit anything, thus making it possible to trigger on raid bosses. Currently the Nova will still trigger Sephuz, but only if it hits a target that can be frozen by it. That includes the adds of M...

Re: Guide to Thermally Voiding your Enemies in 7.2.5

Thank you thingy, that's very helpful. I'm also a big fan of the shimmerlance suggestion because it will make you skip the usual travel time of Frozen Orb. That in turn means that you can immediately start walking back during the GCD of the orb and your first orb lance and reduce the risk of munchin...

Re: Kindling is back ?

Honestly, I think it's stupid to have a tier be based entirely around combustion when entire point of the fire mage changes in 7.1.5 was to lessen the impact of combustion and move it's damage into other abilities. 7.2 already took steps to go against that and now it seems like 7.3 will take it eve...

Re: Guide to Thermally Voiding your Enemies in 7.2.5

Given how important BF procs are for T20 4p I don't see a case where you ever want to risk missing out on one. Agree with all, just wanted to add that T20 4pc reduces FO cd even if you munch a BF proc(so getting a BF proc while having BF) or at least it did on one of the latest PTR builds I played ...

Re: Guide to Thermally Voiding your Enemies in 7.2.5

Then let's finish that thought. Say you're tracking IF and CR, so you can now see at all times where your stacks are at. What do you do with that information? The only choice you have that's technically worth a DPS gain would be to hold FoF procs until you reach high stacks of IF or CR or both. Howe...

Check out the Top Gear option on raidbots.com - best/easiest/quickest way to get sims for your own trinkets, based on the gear you're wearing. Just install the simcraft addon, copy&paste your current gear and alternatives in your bags with ./simc, plug it into raidbots and select all your trinkets f...

Re: Fire Or Frost???

if theres no difference between frost and fire for you then i would play fire as 1, you know the spec better and 2, you can still get frost gear while playing fire until it's better to go frost. If you can try and get frost fire and arcane to a place where you can switch specs every fight. Don't do...
