Question about Sims and Pawn

Unread postby DisstortioNz Thu Oct 20, 2016 6:01 pm

Can i merge both strings to create one string for my pawn like this or its going to be innacurate ?

Sims:

AoE + Single Target

Crit: 27.20 + 11.02 = 38.22
Mastery: 24.98 + 6.79 = 31.77
Int: 21.31 + 9.10 = 30.41
Haste 21.65 + 7.77 = 29.42
SP 20.31 + 8.69 = 29
Vers 16.86 + 7.58 = 24.44

( Pawn: v1: "Fire": Intellect=30.41, SpellPower=29, CritRating=38.22, HasteRating=29.42, MasteryRating=31.77, Versatility=24.44 )

ps: I used 250000 iterations to be the most accurate possible and i dont know why haste sims high like that i have 3339 Haste ( 10.27% ) and i heard 1800 was the cap ..

No you can not but you may get lucky. To be accurate..ish you have to simulate what you want to fight, not simulate something different and then make guesses based on it. That having been said simulations are usually set up confidently only for very simple fights like 1 Patchwerk or 1 Patchwerk + 1 Add that is periodically spawning reliably so if you're doing this for 5mans or general fights you might be doing the best you can with a guess like that anyway.

Try it like this:

1. Normalize both ST and AoE weight so that INT is always 1
2. ST + AoE
3. Divide by 2

This way both ST and AoE value will have 50% impact on final value of stat and it should give you a bit better guess.

The last division is not needed since the result is normalized anyway or the relative order same. The first normalization appears to be required since the total of AOE weights is way off compared to ST. All that of course into the framework that this method is a very crude guess.

True, math will be same with or without division it is just there to normalize values back to 1. Basically this is just correct way from math perspective to get what DisstortioNz was trying in the first place. Stat weights won't be correct but they should be at least ordered correctly and in some proximity of real combined values.

You should always get something like Crit>Mastery>Int or Crit>Int>Mastery I think.

What's the point of merging both situations ?

With simcraft, you can run both and check stats weights for each one, and then in Pawn, you can create two profiles, one for each situation, specifying each of different stats weights.
With this setup, for each item, you would have the information of how much it increases you in ST and in Multi target.
This allows you to focus depending on what content you prefer (Raid or Mythic+) or even create specific gear sets for each boss.
