Icy Veins + Thermal Void uptime?

So on a dummy the longest i could have it up was 87 seconds and in a nornal fight I can only run it for a little longer than 45 seconds. How much is considered good?

No idea but i would be interested in hearing the answer.
Icy veins is a 2 min cd still, right?
So 120 seconds.
If you average 45 seconds that's....54% up time?
I've seen/heard 80% up time spoken about so that would be....96 seconds.
Though i think you need the icy veins gloves to get that high as well as really good play.

Every 6 seconds duration is 5% up-time. Up-time being of course the time until icy veins is off cd and available to be re-used.You're having it up more than not but only just.

Got any logs an experienced mage could help you look at?

edit: also, no coffee or painkillers yet so that math is probably horrid.

IV's cooldown is lowered on frostbolt crits iirc, so, your math isn't completely correct. Though, don't quote me on that since I just started playing my frost mage

Hmm so those percentages only work based on the assumed 2 min cd and not taking into account the crits from frostbolt reducing the cooldown.

Probably best bet is to sim yourself then and see what it says your uptime should be and how close you are to that

3min cooldown, lowered by FB crits.

Good uptime depends on your perspective. I'm happy if I get to my second orb with IV up, but my best attempt I had IV drop with about 20s left on cooldown. Bad attempts are around 45s or so.
