I just got the bracers after getting shoulders 2 days ago!
So now I have shard, gloves and bracers. How to decide on what fights to use which one?
I am thinking of using Shard/bracers on fights that we lust on pull and Bracers/gloves on fights that we don't lust on pull. Does that seem about right?

I ram sims for all 3 combinations and shard/gloves is the highest of the bunch. I imagine because the Sim uses lust on pull and that my gear is not optimized when switching them around.

That seems about right. I recommend checking http://www.warcraftlogs.com and looking up what the top 100 mages for your spec parse high w/ the most consistently. The ring isn't as good on fights where you can't line it up twice w/ cool downs'. Also extending IV with double IL and gloves can be a huge DPS boost when you get 2nd and 3rd orbs consistently. Enjoy it while you can.
