I am falling behind a new mage in my guild, and I'm very frustrated by my middling parses.

I don't really know how to analyze a log. For instance, tonight's H Auger:

Look at that guy way up there. Just look at him! That guy is not me. I am lowly Telepatra.

My raiding habits are: Always work a mechanic of a boss above all else. Move out of shit immediately. Not a skilled shimmerlancer, can doublelance. Sometimes forget my second hero (ring), sometimes miss a pot because I'm a pesky clicker for pot, my hero. Sometimes barrier too much to compensate for iffy healers, I'm trying to get better at NOT hitting that and wasting that global.

Anyway, I'd like to be more like Spergler. He's not even potting!

Can anyone help me see what I'm doing incorrectly?
Also, if I am in the haste range for doublelance, do I act like a melee? How close should I be trying to stay from a boss?
I'd like to be able to read my own parses and compare someone else to mine on my own, but I don't really know where to start.

ETA: I'm pretty sure I am using the correct legendaries. I'm missing bracers, sephuz, and the boots. On fights where we delay hero, like Auger, would it be better to swap in bubbleneck/bubblechest/shoulders/belt/trinket?

It's fairly unrealistic for me to target the bis artifacts, outside of praying for a soggy proccing high. I do generally get a 10+ in every week, but I'm not spamming mythics, am intimidated by pugging into a group.
