Fire mage getting low iLVL parses

Unread postby Lanfëar Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:36 am

I came back to the mage after years of playing lock successfully and now am having problems with my damage since Antorus. Below is my armory link and a link to my most recent log. If you can provide any assistance It would be appreciated. You would also be able to access older logs from that link, as they are stored under the guilds account, as I did fuck up and run the wrong talents for the first boss for our most recent run.

Logs:

Armory:

Thanks in advance for those who help out!

You definitely want 50%+ critical with antorus 4pc. You will see the rotation even out and higher burst during combustion and more sustain. Especially when you run kindling, it will keep combustion up more. Keep 20%+ haste and mastery

Hey Lanfear, without looking into much of your logs it seems like you're not getting the most out of your pyros which helps significantly with ignite damage.

I was comparing my logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/ ... ras/huggle to yours and I was noticing that my pyro/ignite damage on Kin'Garoth for example was dramatically higher than yours simply on my usage of cooldowns and rotation cycles.

I would highly recommend looking into some of the fire guides on rotation optimizations, as well as when to use RoP (I see you use it for every fight which isn't always optimal), as RoP is very finicky and requires very high knowledge on fights and when/if to use RoP.

Yes RoP sims higher than IF, but only if you can get the full usage out of it, which it seems like you're not.

Try pugging some of these fights in between your raid nights to practice fights with different gear/talent setups to see what works best for you.

Work on getting some more mastery as well. Crit is important especially since you're using lego ring, but mastery cannot be ignored so consider re-enchanting/gemming if needed.

PM me or reply to this comment if you got any questions!
