This might be a big deal or nothing at all but the glitched map https://gyazo.com/b8d2e09bfba01ff89f5eb4d8ba4a3aa5 is from shadowmoon valley. And there is another thing from shadowmoon valley that we should consider. I don't know if its correct but Cote Metcalf's son Ryan died in Shadowmoon valley. http://www.wowhead.com/npc=74547/ryan-metcalf

Edit 1: I died near Ryans position and walked there as a ghost but i didn't see anything.
checked the spot and the NPC is not there for horde

Is Shadowmoon Valley the only other location that map appears at? I also looked at the comments in the link that you posted and apparently there is both an actor and a Blizz artist with the same name.

On another note, I was wondering about trying to pull the Stormheim polymorph mob into that nest with the dead sheep and polymorphing it there. Might be related to the https://legion.wowhead.com/npc=111691/e ... heim-sheep? I know if I suddenly became a sheep in an area surrounded by dead sheep, I'd become extra volatile.

While I haven't found anything interesting regarding the vrykul shepherd, might be worth mentioning that the starving wolf which appears at this area has a special interaction. You'll have to wait for the wolf to spawn, and when it does use sheep (or any cc to prevent him from interfering) on the shepherd and let the wolf 1v1 the goat which it attacks (dont assist by attacking the goat, the wolf will usually aggro you after). If you keep the shepherd away, the wolf will win the 1v1. After this the wolf does not run back like a regular mob would after killing something, but it stops at the corpse and starts eating it with a quite flashy animation of blood flying everywhere. After this the wolf leaves and instead of returning to the original spot or attacking other goats, it runs downhill to a different bush (or just a branch rather) and despawns there.

I've tried things such as killing the wolf while he is running there hoping for any loot, searching the despawn spot for anything clickable or attackable (by spamming arcane explosion around that area), using invisibility to find creatures around that area and so on but haven't been able to find anything.

Besides the wolf, I've also went through just about every interaction you can perform solo with the shepherd, the goats and the nearby mariner+stormdrake combo. Hopefully some of you find this helpful but personally Im pretty much ready to give up with this mob

Edit: All of the tests were done in arcane spec with a 0/300 progress Aluneth

Something just popped into my head. Has someone tried wearing a Cote Metcalf look-alike transmog (or otherwise) set while polymorphing the mobs? Maybe the "..." indicates that there IS dialogue to be had from these volatile sheep, and that if you look like Cote, they might mistake you for him and expand their dialogue? I could see this being a way to transition us into phase 2 of the hunt, with a clever little clue.

Since this hunt has totally consumed me these past couple of days, I decided to go ahead and make a guild dedicated to preserving the arcane mage's existence here in Azeroth. We're gonna be primarily dedicated to hunting down this damned hidden skin, and once it's found, we'll prolly move into doing mythic+ and raids.

If you're on Stormrage, shoot me a tell (Urlain-Stormrage) and I can get you an invite.

We could make a discord channel to search for the hidden appearances, looks like a good way to work together. Or maybe a channel in the altered-time one?

I was literally just thinking this. Here is one:
https://discord.gg/VXbTXtG" target="_blank

EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, I literally JUST made the channel and am currently setting it up.
EDIT 2: It's atleast functional at this point. Feel free to dump info in the server.

This is not conclusive proof of it being bugged.

A feral druid linked a screenshot of a conversation with a GM regarding the feral artifact. This seems to insinuate that the GM saw something about the Feral Druid Hidden artifact being bugged, possibly about something with the "roll".

This not does mean that our Artifact skin is bugged, nor does that mean that the Feral Druid skin is bugged either but it could be the case. Just know, there have been many cases in the past where a GM's information was incorrect.

There may be a pre-req, might not be live yet or it may be bugged. We can't know for sure.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in about the arcane artifact. I'm pretty convinced that the nest with the dead sheep in Stormheim is connected as many have said, and taking notes from the Kosumoth summoning I decided to look at the nest as if it was a map. If you are standing in the nest and face Northwest, each patch of straw on the ground correlates to the large Vykrul settlements in Stormheim. From bottom left and going clockwise: Hrydshau, Aggramar's Vault, Haustvald, Halls of Valor, with Shields Rest up in the corner.

Now, I noticed that if we were to look at the nest like a map as described above, the Vykrul Sheperd would be in one of the positions of the dead sheep, southeast of the Halls of Valor. I went around Stormheim to the areas where the sheep in the nest are in relation to the "map" I saw, and I saw a couple of common occurences. First, there were always goats in the area, not sure if relevant but I was taking note of everything. Second, Vykrul were always present in some form, and with most areas having some type of Hunter-esque mob (as in controlling/taming neutral animals, similar to the Sheperd). The only places where this wasn't the case was the Halls of Valor area (which I'm wondering might be actually inside the instance as opposed to outside, in the Endless Hunt area, since if I remember correctly there are hunters in there), and in the area where the dead sheep in the nest appears to be on a shield, northwest of the Aggramar's Vault sheep. That is the only sheep in the nest that is on a shield like that, and it seems very deliberately placed on it. The shield he is on also has a very clearly visible Vykrul insignia on it as well. I'm not sure where that sheeps "area" would reference. Maybe the large statue you can climb up inside? I checked around in there and around it and didn't really find anything notable. But I just think that the sheep in the nest being so clearly organized to look like Aluneth has to be a sign that it is supposed to catch our attention.

This is all just stuff I'm thinking about, obviously it is all speculation. Seeing as how intricate the Kosumoth ritual was, and with Blizzard apparently saying that this hidden appearance is the hardest to find, I'm just trying to get as much detail as possible out so maybe someone else can come and make something out of all this where I couldn't.

Nice, I hadn't looked at it like that. This opens up some more things to test out :) Cheers man!

Anyone have locations for any of the Shepherds? I searched for a bit and wasn't able to find any of the ones in the northwest area

The Vrykul ones? Afaik, there's only one. I haven't checked his position, though. Seems unlikely to be related to our hidden appearance when there's a WQ that has priority over his position - there's one that involves naga that causes him to despawn for something like 12 hours.

So all the sheep at the nest (which we're using as a map) are dead, right? So far at 3 of the sheep locations I've found little burial sites with shields/bones on the ground. Here's the one below Hrydshal.

Burial site: http://i.imgur.com/Sn720Vz.png" target="_blank
Location on map: http://i.imgur.com/7eLOD2H.png" target="_blank

Another pair: (Screenshot + map location): http://i.imgur.com/R0Walqd.jpg" target="_blank / http://i.imgur.com/HEGXa29.png" target="_blank

I've also found burial sites for some of the northwestern locations. Didn't take screenshots though because I didn't think it meant anything, but now I think it might.

Edit: Hmmm, maybe not. I found a burial in a seemingly unrelated place southwest of Halls of Valor.

can you post a picture of you lining up the hay with settlements?
i tried around and it simply does not work for me

a simple picture where you mark the areas of settlements should be enough for me too
Vykrul are simply everywhere in stormheim, i fear we put too much into it

Image

Was wondering if the sheep always lined up the same way every time or if it's random, so i cross-checked it with the earlier picture in the thread. The exact same sheep point in the exact same directions. The hay also does.

On that note, doesn't the hay looks strangely close to how Azeroth is shaped?

Image

The 'top piece' (Northrend) is also roughly twice as large as the bottom piece (Pandaria).

The top half of Eastern Kingdoms is missing, but otherwise it's 5 pieces of hay that are roughly the size and shape of the continents of Azeroth

A shaman hexxed one of the yellow mobs and received the same "..." from the volatile sheep as well. About 7 hours ago.
I don't know if this is maybe a bug..or maybe we've been going on something that has nothing to do with our hidden weapon skin.

Map of Azeroth looks similar. I also thought it could look a map of Stormheim if the land masses currently were separated more. The only exception would be the middle and right pieces, which I'm not sure how they fit into what Stormheim looks like now.

I was looking for other stuff on Wowhead and also found these quests. They're not tagged under any class, so they may or may not be related. Just thought I'd post for any theories that come up. (5 heads, 5 zones?)

https://www.wowhead.com/quest=44093/hea ... d#see-also" target="_blank
https://www.wowhead.com/quest=44094/head-2-looted" target="_blank
https://www.wowhead.com/quest=44095/head-3-looted" target="_blank
https://www.wowhead.com/quest=44096/head-4-looted" target="_blank
https://www.wowhead.com/quest=44097/head-5-looted" target="_blank

Can someone try entering these quests into the script above and see what they return? Also, would help to know if you've already done the sheep in each zone.

Nothing to do with Arcane, but I got a response from Blizz about me not getting my Frost Mage weapon when the text appeared about the portals crackling:

" I am really sorry that you have been waiting so long, but we are quite busy right now. Cut to the chase, thanks for contacting us about hidden artifact apperance.

Some of apperances may not yet been fully in the game, so you don;t have to worry about that - you will get this message again and hopefully than you will be able to get this apperance :)
