Can I soak Malice with Ice Block?

On Garrosh HC in phase 4, do immunities like Ice Block work for soaking Malice? I've tried searching for an answer, but half the posts I find say you can't, the other half that you can.

While we CAN do it, there are fat better classes to do it. We are not only losing dps by soaking but also immobile which is the bigger issue. During malice 4 you are going to likely be trying to get accross the room for good position on your final malice, ice blocking makes this a mad dash at the end of the duration.

Our team is going 10-man for the summer becuase people are away on holidays. I am pretty sure I am only asked to do this because there are no other options in the raid setup that we will use on Garrosh tomorrow. I think there's going to be one person soaking both 2nd and 4th malice, and then me and a shadow priest soaking one each (and then a backup if one of the soakers is the malice target). Would it be better for me to soak the 2nd, and let the priest soak the 4th, movement wise? Or would that be a problem because thats when we are getting the Iron Star to spawn, so we need to move after the clump check?

Possible, yes. But I'd much rather have monks and hunters on it. Mages only work if all mages do it together, because we can't move during ice block, meaning if the person with malice isnt someone with immunity, they will have to move from the fire, and being out of the mages' range if the fire spawns a bit unlucky.

It's really annoying to have a strategy which only works ~50% of the time, especially when it's all the way at the end of the fight.

I ended up being the the main target at the point where I was supposed to be soaking, so I didn't even get to try it out. But I can see your points about needing more immunities together so noone has to move. But anyways, thanks for the input everyone, it was much appreciated.

That's because you're our sacrificial mage.

You should bring a sacrificial Warlock. -cough-carrymeplease-cough-. Not sure we're going to kill Garrosh in time with how our roster keeps flaking out, but I can't use my Mage just in case.
