Pretty much this.

Fire will be fun as well. Fish for a pyro with scorch, Living bomb, gather as many mobs as you can, Dragons Breath, Blast Wave, spread fire with inferno blast, and move on to the next pack as they burn!

Sticking with Fire until it drops out at around 97 or so(unless the nerfs get miraculously reverted Soon ™) and then probably swapping to Arcane for the last few levels as Arcane is my second choice for 100. Fire does have a lot in it's toolkit outside of straight damage for leveling now compared to what it used to so it's entirely possible it'll be more than fine all the way to 100 considering how well the spec can AoE grind now. Just going to have to play it by ear.

Frost became quite different around lvl 95 or so. With frostbolts taking ~1.75sec to cast and hitting for negligible amounts, the only way to kill stuff is when you have procs/instants available.

And to survive, ice barrier on cd and kite kite kite while you wait for the aforementioned procs/instants haha

This. I started out as Fire and LB on everything is a nice way to pull stuff, but I very quickly switched to frost and found it must better. Run around mounted to aggro a bunch of mobs or IL several things, group them up, and wreck them with Ice Nova and Frozen Orb/IL spam if need be.

The last few levels this still worked although I had to be more careful about how many mobs I'd pull at once and wouldn't do it without Frozen Orb up, but the last few levels as any spec are going to slow down because the mobs have finally caught up to our ilvl.

Leveling with a 587 ilvl Fire was doable all the way to 100 with Blast Wave being incredibly important. I was able to kite extremely well along with being able to kite entire groups of adds while still maintaining large amounts of AoE on them. Wouldn't recommend at lower ilvls.

Once 100 though had to go Frost.
