New to Arcane, advice?

I'm raiding now with my arcane mage, I have pretty good gear but my dps is well, shocking. I've looked at everything and it doesn't appear that I'm doing much (if anything( different. And yet, clearly I am otherwise my DPS would be more than 3k (5k burst)
Anyone able to offer advice? What's best to follow out there? I keep watching the youtube videos and I never know who's actually the right one to follow. Wanna help a gal out?
