WoD Fire and 4t16 post Pyro buff

suggests that there might be some hope for Fire spec if we stick with 4t16 instead of replacing it with Fire gear, because the guaranteed Pyro crit is extremely strong post buff. This seems to be particularly powerful on Cleave fights, to the point where this guy's sim shows Fire above Frost. One guy actually tried this and ranked nicely on Tectus on World of Logs:

Has anyone else tried this? What do you think?

I feel like if this becomes common it will instantly get hotfixed and nerfed (it's really not an intended mechanic), and with potential Fire buffs on the way it might be worth exploring.

I suspected this when I could not get through Proving Grounds: Silver while wearing the new WoD gear, but had no problems once I put my old mythic SoO gear back on.

The new gear, even the gear with Crit on it, just does not seem to work out as well as the old gear.

Guess I'm off to the self-help Item Restoration on battle.net to get my old gear back!

edit: just ran a quick 5-man as Fire using the 4pc T16 Mythic gear, absolutely annihilated everything.

Yes, set bonuses are disabled; however, all the beautiful crit is not.

Had some pretty good results on Heroic Imperator tonight with this, but forgot to run my logs again -_-. Did well enough to warrant not even bothering to play Frost for that fight at least. Running tomorrow night too, hopefully I'll remember to log it.

If I'm not mistaken, the 4T16 effect has been disabled for higher level characters. I was unable to get it on my alt. Anyone else seeing the same?

Is this a recent change? Or is this 4pc thing still viable because of all the itemized gear

It was changed along with the buff to fire's crit in the last hotfix it looks like.

Nah, it was at some point afterwards. The hotfix hit while I was working on Heroic Imperator last night and the bonus was still working until we finished up in there at least.
