Thats the thing, I have about 3.5k haste already. Much more than the 1800 breakpoint

Do you have Bindings of the Fire King? Haste increases in stat weight with those equipped. But it still shouldn't be overtaking crit.

I do not but I do have the burning torch which might be the reason haste is being valued higher, I dont have another belt to test if it its because of that or not but it might be worth looking into it

Built a spreadsheet to display data I've produced recently on trinkets (covers Arcane/Fire) from 840 to 880 versions in 10 ilvl steps.

Ran using the T19H profile, Patchwerk & all default settings.
strange table, though maybe it only works for T19 profile

a single check, using available trinkets that I have, shows that the data is wrong. For example, substituting 850 Hellfire with 850 Portable manactacker results in 7k DPS loss according to the latest version of Simcraft, while your table shows that manacracker is better.

Thank you. I was actually not aware that Sinew interacted with combustion. Guess I'll try delaying it for combustion then. Should have it going about every second combustion that way.

Has any1 looked at the TimeWalking trinkets? As I understand these can titanforge as well? Sure the necks and rings titanforged will be BIS since they contain intellect and crit?

I disagree with delaying sinew for every combustion, especially in a 5 min patchwerk that we all seem to be using for sims.

Lets take a 5min Ursok fight. You can use 4x combustion
0:00
1:30
3:00
4:30

Sinew you can use every 2min:
0:00
2:00
4:00

Now what happens if you delay your sinew for your 3rd combust?
0:00
3:00
5:00 (urg boss is allready dead....)

So correct use is:
1st sinew during 1st combust
2nd sinew outside combust
3rd sinew during 4th combust

Hello all! First post here - was turned onto this forum by a longtime friend who's been playing Mage since Vanilla. It's been really helpful but I'm running into a bit of a struggle. I've suddenly gone from short on quality trinkets to drowning in them (at least, relative to my gearing to this point) and need some advise if any is available.

In the last three days, I've obtained:

850 Swarming Plaguehive (+ Socket / 150 Crit Gem)
860 Caged Horror
845 ChronoShard
845 Oakheart's Gnarled Root (+ Socket / 150 Crit Gem)

I'm leaning towards running the Swarm + Oak combo for everything that is geared towards single target, since Caged Horror isn't nearly as strong on pure single target fights. Also, Swarm puts me over the 1800 haste breakpoint that I'm aware of (yet admittedly, don't fully understand).

Am I on the right track? Sorry if I'm leaving something important out here. Based off of what I'm reading, the ChronoShard is the one to retire here.

The original post barely mentions/shows the Plaguehive, which threw me off quite a bit. Just trying to get a handle on things. Thanks for any advice.

Since the spreadsheet changes every hour I just ask it in here. Can't really decide which trinkets I should use for my character. My current trinketchoices are:

wriggling senew; ilvl 850
devilsaurshock-baton; ilvl 830
unstable horrorslime; ilvl 850
corrupted starlight; ilvl 845
swarming plaguehive; ilvl 865

I always have used the devilsaur + corrupted starlight combination, but yesterday I looted the other ones. As far as I understand, the unstable horrorslime is really poor, so i'm definitely not using that one. What combination should I stick with as a fire mage?

Devilsaurs + wriggling?
Swarm + wriggling?

Hi, just a quick question which hopefully will get a reply.

Am I using stat weights correctly?

I wanted a generalised stat weight factoring in both single target and AoE with single-target capability being worth twice as much as AoE capability for the purposes of priority/boss damage.

What I did:
-normalised the single and 4 target aoe stat weights to int = 1.000
-doubled single target (so int = 2.000)
-add the two sets of stat weights together and divide by 2 to get the average (int now = 1.500).
-re-normalised the stat weights so int = 1.000 again

My stat weights are now

crit 1.049
int 1.000
mast 0.848
vers 0.803
hast 0.703

which seems about right to me, but I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone picks up a mistake in my process.

How much better is 850 Swarming Plaguehive over a 830~ stat stick trinket (int/crit)? I'm sitting at 60% crit atm and I'm wondering if the crit from the stat stick would be better than the plaguehive proc

I am getting a VERY VERY low Haste value which seem wrong

Crit (10.03)->Int(9.01)->Vers(8.58)->Mast(8.08)
till here seem decent enough but then I have --------------------------> Haste (1.49)

am I simming something wrong?

That sounds like a great idea. I'm getting weights from HecticAddCleave 1 target and 4 targets and I was using both stat weights but I'm going to average them out the way you did giving single target twice the weight.

Just got the Waist legendary, but not sure how to implement scorch into my rotation, or if I should be using it at all. Thoughts?

It will be nice to see a stats weight with a profile ~870 (full 865 with legendary and 3 relic 865) with Marquee Bindings of the Sun King in single target and cleave situation.

I have on my mage the Bindings and ilvl around 865 and the haste is even lower than mastery on ST and of course with two targets it is much worse. With hectic ceave modifier is mastery way below everything and haste is the second worst stat.
I would post simulations but dont know how to enclose the result :O
