Combustion Technique - Tick compression

I am having a really hard time doing this trick, to it's max potential.

The highest ignite so far on dummy, selfbuffed was 1 million. I am a 585 undead fire mage, so gear isn't the issue. I tried different Things regarding mastery stacking, haste stacking, and whatnot. It just wont get higher than 1 mill.. Happened once. Usually it's around 700k.

Seen you Guys videos, and can't believe you can get those ignites, like very frequent.
I am doing an exact replica of the video.. My ignite just simply wont get that high.

Any suggestions, or a mentor that wanna go on dummy with me?

I wouldnt expect much higher than 1million without a crit banner / mastery buff, you're not doing something really wrong.

My 2million ignite was on 11k mastery, however, I had mastery buff, stats buff, and crit banner. (No magic dmg amp or tricks though)

My highest was 1.3 self buffed, do you have BBoY, and if at what stack are you using AT?

Specced haste again, just so you don't say my mastery is low.. I know

For the alter time, I alter time whenever I have legendary meta, PBoI, BBoY and jade spirit ofc - preferably, where my last pyro can land at 0 seconds left, but if it's 2 seconds or 0 seconds isnt a big deal.. Just to fire them off before it expires atleast.

can someone look through this log and try to explain to me why my peak was so low with a combustion/ignite like that? not to mention why my overall dps ended up so low...am i missing something in the log?

999630/476688 ~= 2.097 ie. HWF PBoI.

You're missing Skull banner, which would have made it 1.20M Combustion crit ticks.

Banner or no banner, I'd say it's pretty hard to have a top rank if your guild doesn't have a sub 3 minute kill.

I'm not too worried about getting ranks as much as just improving each week. I guess i was just comparing to my results from last week and it confused me why my peak was so much lower considering that i had a weaker combustion the week before.

That's last week's log. At this point i'm just assuming the reason is that the dogs died faster this due to more people focusing them compared to last week : / sad considering how much damage the combustion could have done if they had been alive longer.

Your combustion damage was lower overall in the second week because you had far fewer ticks, even though they were larger. Your 3:40 log only has two uses of Combustion and the 4:09 has three.

As for the difference in the peak, the dogs died roughly 8 seconds faster, lowering your initial burst.

Btw: Peaked at just over 5m dps on Shamans using this trick with my Arcane Gear. Is it worth swapping out heroic KTT for normal BBoY to do this?

On build 18838 beta? No. On live? Also no. On PTR? I've heard conflicting reports, so I don't know.

I wouldn't bother with the trinket swap.

Is it possible? Yes.

Do I want to put the time in to change how IB spread works for something that is going away in WoD? No.

Komma tossed the idea around in head for awhile, but I think that the lack of it being done makes it clear he lost interest in doing so.
