Combustion Technique - Tick compression

When trying this on training dummies I often find that I run out of instant pyroblasts before I exit alter time. In optimal situation I fire my fourth instant pyroblast on target B. Might it be worth casting the thrid pyroblast on target B instead to avoid that situation? I guess you could just scorchs target B to get an ignite on it if you run out of pyroblasts, most likely there's time for it before exit alter time.

I'm doing without any raidbuffs except the ones I can provide to myself and doing it with 20,468 crit rating and mage armour.

any success in doing it without Alter Time?, the second combustion can be overwhelmed with a simple fireball ignite? With a 5 stacks tier bonus and meta gem proc, and a high critical of course is possible cast 3 pyros on A, a fireball on B (critical), a fourth pyro on A, spread B>A and combustion.
No success for me till now, i will take a time to try other ways.
Probably i am doing something wrong =), any tips will be appreciated.

I can confirm that it works BUT i'm quite frustrated. Biggest Dps was like 1.9 million burst and i don't know where my mistake is.
Rotation is:
Opening like everytime:
(waiting for everything to procc, like trinkets etc) and cast my first Timewarp with 3 PB in primary target + 1 (and mostly last one) on the focus-target
now switching back on main target with AT re-use and spamming PB on main target, now spread with IB from my focus with the one pyro back on and immediately casting combustion on maintarget.

Seems only to could be used if Hero is activ, right?
(I don't use Flask or my Pots so...)

Don't need hero. You need to spread ignite from your off-target to your main-target with less than 1.5 seconds left of ignite duration. The way you worded it it sounds like you don't spread until you're out of pyros, which is too late, since ignite will be gone from off-target.

The "trick" doesn't require alter time. It can simply be done with a fireball ignite, yes. Although without opening procs, especially the meta gem proc, it might be hard to fit in 3 pyros if you're running low haste.

If you don't have a focus target it will set your current target as a focus (great for fallen protectors where your focus will disappear)

My record so far is a 1m ignite (400k combustion crits), not sure how people are getting 2x that, am i missing something?

i think people are reforging everything for mastery, i did it and got 7k haste/ 20k critical / 18k mastery (53% mastery), with that e build up a ignite of 1.7M with Mage Armor and a Elemental Shaman in party. Best Result soo far.

But i cant go for heroic with that, for me best setup is 12k haste/ 12k mastery /20k critical. I am 585. With that i can build a 1.2M ignite and after combustion keep doing a good dps without let Potent flames drop.

I'm doing it at 13365 mastery and get 1,1-1,2M ignites somewhat frequent. I can't be arsed waiting for all the procs, I'm practicing to get a feeling for timing. My record is 1,5M ignite, not sure what happened there not been over 1,3M since.

Highest I managed on the dummies in Shrine was a 1.24m Ignite. Having trouble repeating that though, most of the time I end up in the 800k-900k range. I'm only at 10.5k Mastery though and can only get to 10.7k Mastery in my current gear if I tried to go all out on it(probably going to do that tonight before raid), and not having Engineering is hurting as well.

LFR Kor'kron Dark Shamans kill. I didn't bring any friend so the fight in whole isn't what I would wish and no skullbanner. But I'm pretty sure I managed to compress combustion. 10074 mastery unbuffed.
