Dagger in the back sim results accurate?

I was wondering if anyone knew if Dagger in the back was simmed considering the caster in behind the target? And if so, how much different are the actual DPS numbers of the trait compared to what the sim says, when you are standing in front of the target??

Not sure, but worth testing on a target dummy or in LFR
