(PvP) Greater Pyroblast vs Fireball/Pyroblast DPS

I know this forum is usually used for PvE, but does anyone know if spamming GP is better than your regular rotation of fireball>fire blast>pyroblast?

And since this is normally a PvE forum, would spamming GP on a elite world boss be more DPS than the regular rotation?

GP definitely puts out more pressure than a regular rotation in actual pvp regardless of raw throughput so it's the way to go. But is likely lower damage for warmode PvE in most cases.

It depends on situation and talents. There are pvp talents that let you get combustion back up really quickly with regular fireball/pyros and if players see you casting greater pyro you've put a bullseye on you head.

If you can stand back from a brawl and cast greater pyro at a crowd, your team will quickly come out on top.

GP will kill people faster, but any arena player worth their salt won't let you get many off, kick you, insta sheep/fear etc. At lower ratings it can work quite well, but as when you start to climb the GP cheese tactic just doesn't work anymore. A lot of top rated players running fire don't even run GP in many games with lots of kicks, think shamman comps etc - they kill through combustion windows instead.

If you're low rating then give GP a go. It can win a lot of games and you can 100-0 people very easily. As you climb it won't be as effective though.

Non really relevant but GP has a planed nerf in shadowlands, it's getting a 15 sec CD. It likely won't see as much play in lower as it's not spammable anymore.
