I know. There was just a tweet that a "bunch of class tuning hotfixes went live last night" and that the details are soon to follow - I can't be the only mage hoping to see something Fire related. I'd prefer to play it over Frost, and either way I'd like to know more where each will stand so I can focus my gearing strategy.

It's looking like the buffs applied last night include some love for Fire. Early numbers seem to suggest ~18% buff to Pyro. Haven't tested other spells yet, cause damage ranges make things complicated.

Glad they bumped up Pyro damage, but I feel like continuing to put more damage focus on Pyro is going to be worse with scaling problems. Should have just reverted the 90 nerfs all around, but at least the spec will be playable now.

Hmm i don't feel like that one change is enough to bring fire up ~4-5k dps in current gear

i think with 4 piece pyro will be a significant enough part of our damage for this to be at least playable. not until then though.

No i meant how much a spec's damage can swing between fights because of RNG; for example, you'd expect Fire's variance to be much higher than other specs.

I've never learnt how to use sincract, but since you run multiple simulations of the same fight to calculate an average number for dps, i guess that calculating the variance on that average should be doable?

I wonder what this looks like post pyro buff, and with the other buffs we received yesterday. Also curious of Dwarf will perform better with the pyro buff (I would imagine it does).

That's hilarious. Seems to do well on 2+ target fights (like the twins).
