Glacial Spike - Best stats distribution for 880iLvL

Hey everyone,

Not sure if I should have posted this in the general topic about Glacial Spike or not...

Anyway, I first want to thanks everyone who contributed on the previous topic which is here and also Maywtf for the work he made on fire secondary stats there.

Si I have done the same kind of simulations for secondary stats for the Glacial Spike spec.

Some remarks before getting in the numbers :
- I play with Lonely Winter (and not with Bone Chilling) ; I think mastery would have a bit more value if you play with Bone Chilling
- The APL is classic (the one you can find on the other topic)
- I didn't put any "Well fed" buff first cause it depends on many things, I'll show you at the end.
- Every simulation is using 25k intelligence and 20k secondary stats.
- All the numbers that you can see in results are in the same following order : MASTERY / CRIT / HASTE / VERSATILITY
- "Kesmow_GS" is my current gear, I have approx 27k intel, 11.5k mastery, 5k crit, 3k haste, 0.3k versatility and no specific legendary or trinket

Let's get into theese numbers now...

Simulation 1 :

> 25k intelligence / 20k secondary stats
> With at least 4k in MASTERY without any other constraints
> Delta : 4k

Spoiler:

>> Mastery seems to be the most important stat (we should have at least 8k imo)
>> Crit is not far behind (we should have at least 2k for now...)
>> Haste is not that bad, I wouldn't have bet much on it
>> Versatility seems awfull...

Let's do something more precise...

Simulation 2 :

> 25k intelligence / 20k secondary stats
> MASTERY : between 8 and 14k
> CRIT : between 2 and 12k
> HASTE : between 0 and 10k
> VERSATILITY : between 0 and 2k
> Delta : 2k

Spoiler:

>> Mastery still the best
>> Crit still very good
>> Haste a bit behind but it seems that we need at least 2k or more
>> Versatility seems still bad

Let's do something even more precise...

Last simulation :
> 25k intelligence / 20k secondary stats
> MASTERY : between 8 and 12k
> CRIT : between 4 and 8k
> HASTE : between 2 and 6k
> VERSATILITY : 0 or 1k, just to check
> Delta : 1k

I think that the last statement was quite good regarding secondary stats :
Try to have something like the following if you are around 880 ilvl

> MASTERY : between 8 and 12k
> CRIT : between 4 and 8k
> HASTE : between 2 and 6k

Just a little simulation with the food using the best secondary distribution...
(Sim yourself for this would be the better way...)



And a last one for the weight of the stats using what "sims" the best after my tests.... (10-6-4-0)



I've done many many simulations around this spec and different gears and the weight was always on the same 'mood'... :
- Mastery, Crit and Haste are always at the top (around 13/15)
- Intelligence and versatility are always behind (around 11/12)

Note :
With all theese big numbers, the dps should be quite exponential when upgrading your gear, which is a nice statement!

I mentioned it to you before, not sure if you caught it:

Simcraft, before the current 7.1.5 nightly builds, hasn't been double-dipping versatility correctly on icicles & Glacial Spike. As far as I can tell, you need a decent amount of mastery before versatility starts shining, but it does very, very well. Most likely better than crit in many cases.

To state it again, if you're using 7.1.0 SimC it won't properly value versatility.

But I think I got the latest version... not sure -_-
Is it ok if I got the 710-03 version of SimC? Should I download the exe again and reinstal?

710-03 is still 7.1.0, so it wouldn't change anything.
