Looking for advice on improving dps

Unread postby Elondrah Sat Mar 10, 2018 10:46 am

So I feel like I'm missing something because my dps is not where it should be for my ilvl. I looked at wowanalyzer and saw that I don't seem to utilize all my procs. I've been casting fb and then when I see a bf proc I use it on the next fb. I've linked two recent fights.

I was also wondering if i should switch gems to be crit gems for two sockets. I sim better without but my crit is at 32.93% and didn't know for certain if I should make sure to get 33%. I also use the trinket http://www.wowhead.com/item=151955/acri ... =3610:1472

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your EB didn't crit at the pull because your Flurry didn't have time to hit the target before that. From my experience, the reason can be the sequence of the abilities. You did it EB > IV > Flurry > ... which is not a mistake at all but can have undesirable effect that you obviously had. Such thing happens if you have high latency or your key bindings don't let you hit the combo pretty fast despite the fact that IV doesn't have GCD. If you feel that you constantly getting this result just swap IV and Flurry: EB>Flurry>IV... Even though you must hit the spells pretty fast as well, you will get guaranteed EB crit at the pull (and even more because subsequent Flurry hits after the first should crit as well).

Moving further. You had some FoF procs but you didn't use it until you had BF proc. The way you dealt with it can lead to the following issue: 1. munching BF procs because you cast FB, dump FoF stacks and then cast another FB > Flurry... 4 munched BF procs as a result; 2. If you do FB > Flurry before getting rid of FoFs you are losing 1 buffed lances (fire FoF'd lance into Winter's Chill debuff). There is absolutely no reason to delay FoF procs at all, especially if IV buff is up (read the Thermal Void description) and even if it's not. Nevertheless, sometimes procs overwrite themselves and if you cast FB then BF and 1 FoF proc then you start another FB already then you should go like this: FB > Flurry > Lance. It's better to lose that 1 lance than munch BF proc. If you cast FB then BF and 1 FoF proc but for some reason you don't start another FB then cast that lance and do FB > Flurry... Same thing but more simple and obvious stands for: FB cast, BF + 2+ FoF procs. Started another FB? Do the shatter no matter what but then you consume all your FoF procs. Didn't continue FB spam? Use FoF procs and then FB > Flurry > Lance.

Also you did 5 unbuffed lance casts and 4 during your burst period.

Having slightly less than 33% of crit is ok if you have Injector.
