Stat Weights (2014-10-14, Default talents: FB_MI):

Interpretation: Multistrike > Crit to Shatter Cap > Mastery/Haste
Q: Why do we recommend people to stack Haste/Crit gems even though Crit seems so weak?
A: Because Crit is strong; Crit is weak in this chart because the profile is already near Shatter Cap (36.33%).

FB/Fbomb = Frost Bomb
UM = Unstable Magic
IN = Ice Nova
MI = Mirror Image
RoP = Rune of Power
IF = Incanter's Flow

Note :
IN is interesting : it freeze the target for Shatter combo and it interrupt incantation on target that can be stun.

Because we do not have any besides the 3% from the raid buff. That means any added versatility scales almost the complete damage we do right now.

I guess the more relevant question is why is Versatility only really high for Frost as opposed to all three specs?

well for frost specifically, in 589 soo gear you reach the crit and haste caps easily, devaluing those two stats, and frost mastery only scales three spells which are no longer the largest parts of our damage, while versatility scales all of our damage

Komma can u update the scale factors aswell? Or dont the buffs change the scaling?

I am not expecting the scale factors to differ hugely, and running low-error-bar stat weight sims take a lot of time. I'll do it when we can verify the hotfixes on servers.

At how many targets would you swap to Frost Bomb?
a fight with constant cleave on two or more targets? use magebomb talent
a fight with occasional cleave? use nova talent
a 100% single target fight? use unstable magic

something else to be aware of from when I was testing frost yesterday - changing a talent or a glyph causes the frost armor passive 8% multistrike to be removed, and I could only restore it by respeccing at the end of making talent/glyph changes

No really, I would say that Frost bomb is really powerful in burst AOE : Frost bomb > Frozen orb and Ice Lance spam. I think of a fight like Garrosh.
For constant cleave, Unstable magic is really good. This kind of situation help reducing the randomness of the talent. Galakrass is a good example, I think.
Ice Nova is good good in all situation. It hit for a ton of damage even in single target.

Wow that explain why ElvUi reminder went off during Horsemen fight claiming I didn't have my frost armor up. I figure it was just due to being out of date. Until I came here and just saw.

I also notice this behavior now with Stance of the Fierce Tiger for WW monks, switch talents/glyphs turns it off, and only way to get it back on is to switch specs then switch back.

depends on how you do the fights i guess. for me, frostbomb felt useless on the adds before galakras since they die almost instantly anyway, but with ice nova i can drop two charges on pretty much every pack, same with mindcontrols on garrosh

while on a fight like protectors or paragons i can do constant aoe cleave with frost bomb

it feels like the talents are designed this way for every spec, a constant aoe bomb talent vs a passive single target fight talent vs a burst aoe nova talent, tho obviously thats just with gear at the moment, and things like the frost 4 set bonus mess it up a little by swinging everything towards one talent too much

You misunderstood unstable magic. It's not single target : it do AOE like every level 75 talents. But they can be used in single target too. There's no point in having 100% up-time for Frost Bomb, just be sure every that it's on the target before casting FoF-IL.

Previous guide are still applying, by example, the 4-pieces bonus is still pretty useless if you can go for at least 2 warforged off-piece.

are you sure about the 4p?

my profile sims about 200 dps higher with 4p than with 2 wf off pieces.
