Looking for help with DPS - logs included

Unread postby GrizzlyTJ Tue May 01, 2018 2:30 am

Hey everyone, hoping that someone here can take a look at my logs and give me some pointers, trying to get my deeps up.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/c ... bracket=15

In case I linked the wrong thing, my toon name is "Fired" - so, naturally, I prefer and play frost instead.

Above is the link for our most recent Varimathras kill. Parsing around 44% and I feel like I played pretty well on that one. Used Ice Floes to cast while moving as much as possible, pre-pot and stacked cooldowns where I was able, etc... My numbers show that something is lacking, though...

Is there a problem with my rotation? Is there a problem with my gear? Where is the difference between a 44% parse doing 1.3M DPS and the big boy frost mages who pull close to 2mil in the same ilvl bracket.

Is it the 2 set from Tomb that I don't have? Or the leggo bracers I don't have? Gear will come I figure, but any help on my rotation/general play would be much appreciated so that I can practice and get better!

Thanks for any and all help.

Your link is broken, but i assume its Fired of Zul'jin? https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cR ... amage-done

Generally speaking ur rotation is not terrible, however you only got a 40% crit on ebonbolt which should be 100%. Always Flurry after your ebonbolt into IL, and make sure its instantly. For example look at your cast table: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/cR ... w=timeline
45s in, you ebonbolt and then IL. At 145s you EB > FB > Flurry > IL, rather than using the flurry for EB. Also on pull your Flurry is too slow and you hero only 12 sec in rather then right away.

Furthermore, your orb and trinket are on the exact same cd, so I'm not sure why you cast your frozen orb 10secs after your trinket. At 180s, you use berserking but don't combine it with anything, and at this point your trinket and orb are almost 20sec apart.

Your dps isn't bad for your ilvl/gear, however not having bracers, not having t20 and using a fire legendary costs you quite a bit of dps.
