t17 BiS

Unread postby icyhott Mon Dec 08, 2014 2:38 pm

I have been looking around but can't quite find it so I'm sorry if it has been posted somewhere. But do we know the current BiS list for Highmaul and Foundry. Or even just Foundry. Specifically weapons, not sure if the staff off imperator or 1H/OH combo is still better. Any advice would be great. Thanks

It's going to be hard to nail down a BiS list because stat weights shift with talents. Warforged and gem sockets throw this further out of whack, unless you go ahead and assume every piece will have those two modifiers on them.

Futhermore BiS would be modeled after patchwerk only, and might not be the BiS piece for different fights.

My advice is to simply sim your character and figure out what your stat weights are for the talents you like using. Then prioritize higher iLevel pieces above lower ones, and shoot for pieces that match your two desired stat weights.

It'll still be tricky when comparing a lower iLevel piece with a gem socket vs a slightly higher iLevel piece without one. For that you would have to know the effect stat weights for the secondary stats on your old piece, the gem socket, and the int, then compare them to that of the new piece.

There is literally only one option for almost every slot...do you really need a BiS list?

The best way to find this out is to use the mr.robot website. Put in your stat weightings after uploading your armory. Check what level of gear you are looking for LFR/Normal/Heroic/Mythic and hey presto, job done.

It's not difficult and anyone can do their own BiS list.

Best in slot list seem pointless. There's two necks avaible do anyone need a list to tell which is best? Two pair of wrists. List had some purpose when you could reforge, had set gemslots and needed to get a certain ammount of speicific stats like hit. Without breakpoints it's just a matter of choosing between stat a and stat b on every slot.

Stat weights for the spec and talent-setup you want to gear for will be mroe helpfull then a list of gear-pieces.

If you have Microsoft Excel, there is a link in this post. http://altered-time.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=500" target="_blank

Change the stat weights on the 'SF' page based on what SimC gives you based on your current spec / talent selection and it will highlight the items that are BiS for you. One thing you need to keep in mind is the trinkets are calculated based on a stat average that they produce. E.g. A trinket that gave you X crit for 20 seconds every minute would become X/3 crit. To know which trinket is BiS because the proc ties in with different CD's only SimC can help but all 3 specs have a trinket comparison chart in the relevant area on Altered Time.
