All-time Favorite PC Game
Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
Currently playing Victoria 2 and I just finished Crysis 1 and 2, each of these definitely deserves to be on my list.
Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
Same. Baldur's Gate series is my favourite. I was at the right age. Played throu BG:EE four times I think but totally forgot about BG2:EE. Something I've to change BG2:EE been out a year already...The Baldur's Gate series, without question, followed closely by Planescape: Torment.

I played 3 and New Vegas aswell but not only are they in first person (u can zoom out a little bit) I like Turn-based gameplay alot more. Yes the scenery is nicer but I always valued gameplay over graphics
On that note, Wasteland 2 is also a great game.

A title people have seemed to forget:
The Might & Magic series (Not HoMM, just MM)
Especially episodes 6-8.. What an epic story and what an epic setting! The Graphs and gameplay might seem a bit crude, but once you start playing you get sucked in and WAM: That was a Whole weekend flying by!
A shame Ubi has pretty much ruined the whole franchise (including HoMM)

Heroes 7 is gonna rock, Phailz, don't worry! I've been following the development daily.
Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
2 games not mentioned sofar:
UFO: Enemy Unknown
Homeworld
Both of them have modern remakes, the Homeworld HD remake is really close to the original but with much better UI + graphics. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is more of a new game with new mechanics than a remake, but it still retains the squad based strategy which I liked with the original game.

Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
Well for time played alone it would be either WoW or DOTA 2
But probably one almost no one has heard of. Neocron.
Shooter MMO with bugs and glitches galore. No real lore, no proper story or depth, but the PvP element was amazing and based entirely on skill. I remember being almost owned, and shaking my adrenaline was going so much when I finally killed the guy in the equivalent of lvl 80 gear vs me in lvl 100 by WoW standard. The added pressure that I was a known quantity on the server vastly outranking this apparent 'noob'.
We then formed a team of a 4 man core that dominated the server and could defend against numbers far greater than ours.

Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
For me picking my best pc game of all time is like picking a favourite child
This being said I do have a number of games which I would reccomend that anybody plays. My two best pc games are any of the Total War games because picking one is just to difficult and secondly is Mount and Blade Warband which I have spent countless hours playing and I cannot wait for the new game coming out later this year Mount and Blade Bannerlord

Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
My favorites are the Prince of Persia saga, although I have recently tried to play them again and I couldn't spend more than 10 minutes playing, times change, and unless they redo an HD version with a slightly better gameplay to match the new gen, I can't play them again, but they still my favorites.

Warhammer Online, I had so much fun in it back in the day - played it for years. To stop me, they had to shut the poor thing down in Dec 2013 (allright, that was likely just one of the reasons ).

Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
Warhammer Online is how I met a ton of my really good online friends that I am still close with today. I only played it for around 4-5 months in beta + live, but it was still a very fun time. It's a shame it fell under the category of "mmo that had potential but fell short".

Baldur's Gate was my jam back in the day.
Personally it's Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, all the custom games just made it even more awesome.
Diablo 2 is another classic.
I don't know if Skyrim qualifies, but I enjoyed Skyrim a lot. Sinked many hours into that game.

Re: All-time Favorite PC Game
My first blind Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition playthrough, not having played any of the Souls games before. Beating the Twin Gargoyles for the first time, ringing that bell. For showing me what true glory feels like.
The Witness. At some point I started to see, and that was truly incredible. For showing me what learning feels like, and that you can't solve a puzzle without understanding all of its parts.
Unreal Tournament. Real men don't hide behind boxes, and strafing makes no fucking sense. For good memories with friends.
