Pyroclasm under 30% with ST

Hey there.
I've been wondering if it is worth taking pyroclasm-enabled pyros under 30%, where you'ld usually be casting scorch x2 pyro.

It just feels like i'm doing a 3.8 cast time for a pyro that's hitting for 35k or 70k crit, when in the same time i can cast 3 scorches and at the very least 1 pyroblast, with each scorch doing 9k damage and the pyro either 11k or 22k crit.

What do you guys think?

The general wisdom is to keep the rotation the same, just to replace fireball with scorch below 30% and keep in mind the auto crits.

So yes, it is still good to just use the hard cast. Especially if you also have a heating up you can make a hot streak with a fire blast during the cast.

i was wondering about this myself a few days ago and looked at the last minute of a Taloc kill i had.

i wass scorching for 7.8k average
instant pyroblasts crit hit for 10k, and crit for 20k
pyroclasm hit for 35k and crit for 74K.
pyroblasts crit roughly 50% of the time.

7.8x3 = 23.4 k damage guaranteed.
with a hit or crit pyroblast (+10/20) = 33 to 43 k damage without pyroclasm in those 4 seconds you would spend casting.

i went over this real quick, so i didnt correct for IF stacks and other procs.

to me a 50% chance to deal double that damage with pyroclams seemed worth it.
might depend on crit, but even without crit it seems that the damage would be roughly the same?

Nope, that more or less covers it.

Stop and hardcast pyroblast when you get pyroclasm procs during the execution phase!
