Why nerf frost mages?

Its not like we were top DPS in any way - actually atm single target frost is lowest mage spec already - now gutting our utility ;( and losing some DPS

Considering the dps: We get buffed by 2% in general (-22% instead of -24%)
but comet storm and frozen orb get nerfed. So they don't like our burst aoe ^^.

Burst AOE seems to be the only thing we do well, seems strange to nerf it taking away what we are good at and making us mediocre at everything.

I suppose we can still bring slow utility for M+... oh, wait.

At the start Frost was the strongest, Fire weakest and Arcane meh.

Now it's Fire strongest (even without BM stacking niche), Frost weakest, Arcane meh.

I don't understand the purpose of having a 1.5 sec 50% move reduction with blizzard at 8.1. Is it that each time a mob get touch by blizzard it get slowed for 1.5 sec? Or one time per blizzard cast? It seems completely useless to slow a mob for 1.5 sec, I mean remove all slow together would almost feel the same, no?

It is 1.5 seconds each time a mob is hit by blizzard. So basically, as long as they are standing in it, they will be permaslowed instead of getting hit by it and then STILL being slowed for 12 seconds.

so if i understand correctly, they nerf comet storm (from 45% to 40% spell power) and frozen orb (from 17.3% to 15.5%), but they buff all our damage a 2% ? is that right? if i'm right, i dont really know if that will be a buff or a nerf in absolute terms. definetely an AOE nerf. dont know about ST though. can anyone bring some light into this? i'm kind of worried.

It's AOE nerf, very slight ST buff.

They nerfed a lot of classes burst aoe its not a frost thing. Frost has been a pain in the ass for melee classes in pvp which is why our slows have been nerfed, our slows are insane atm especially in pvp. The 2% should put us up with fire if blastermaster gets nerfed which I expect it will at some point.
