Mages Go Outdoors!
Mages Go Outdoors!
So any hikers amongst us?
Since I'm on a nice break from this mind-numbing expansion that is Pandaria, I went back up to my old stomping grounds in Virginia and did the Tinker Cliffs/Andy Lane trail along with 4 others.
Sometimes we forget how beautiful life is outside an LCD screen. If anyone else has some pics of them on rocks, in trees, or just away from technology in general, post 'em here!

Frost rocks on cleave but Fire reigns on AoE. Where is Arcane ?
Re: Mages Go Outdoors!
Nothing to hike in around here.
Re: Mages Go Outdoors!
Take a train into Germany, not even too far south. There are hikes all around Dusseldorf and around all towns south into BW. I drove for 5 hours for this hike, so a couple hour train should not be a big deal, except for people who smell you on the way home!Nothing to hike in around here.
Re: Mages Go Outdoors!
At 30 minutes from Paris by train, there's a place called Fontainbleau with a big forest (for France, small for US) .
Here's some pic :

Wow, I am going to South Africa!
Re: Mages Go Outdoors!
Rock state park - The distance down is actually pretty far. Basically an abandoned rock quarry, lots of big rocks to climb all over. Was really cool.

Friday:
Mini hike to a waterfall then some Schnitzel and Spätzle to charge up for Saturday's big hike.
Our Saturday Mission was to go waaaaay up there, rather than through the mines of Moria:
35k steps / 26km (16.3mi) in this with my friend Airaela, became so snowy and windy towards the summit that we couldn't take the risk of taking more pictures:
Panorama:
Back at the hotel, there were no restaurants open for over 30 miles in any direction, in snowy/icy mountain roads. It got down well below freezing (17F/-8.3C) and my tire sensors came on, however I thought it was because I hit a pothole. Very worried, we just quickly grabbed a rotisserie chicken from a grocery store and drove back to the hotel, as to not let my car sit in the cold in case something went wrong with one of the tires. Got back to the hotel, had no utensils, so I grabbed my Kalashnikov and went to town on this poor chicken.
Sunday:
Nice relaxing, shorter hikes around Lake James, NC (near Nebo & Marion) - felt like we went backwards from Winter to Fall because it was about 2km lower elevation!

There's a Bell Tower from year 1720 (old by American standards!):
